Originally from West Drayton in Middlesex (nr THAT London), Alan left school in 1974 with little in the way of qualification. He spent 12 years in retail, including a stint in a record shop for a while, and with his love of music, a well-suited job. After that took on early mornings by becoming a postman.
The love for music took Alan to his local Hospital Radio station in 1977.
In 2001, he moved his family, (and rather large music collection) to Lincoln. He was offered the chance of a one-off show at Lincs FM, and 9 months later was asked back to do a couple of weekend overnight shows, that couple of weekends grew and has been here doing overnight and cover shows on a regular basis since then.
Highlights of his time at Lincs FM include, chatting with listeners, holding a Tarantula for Face Your Fears week, oh and being let loose in a bakery, (he loves bread).
