Unions say cuts to funding for Humberside and Lincolnshire's fire service have had a real impact

There's been a 14 per cent drop in Lincolnshire over 4 years and 11 per cent in the Humberside fire service area.

Staff numbers at Humberside fire and rescue are continuing to decrease after Government cuts of by over 11 per cent in the last 4 years.

Two point six million pounds has been scrapped from the service...leaving staff under major pressure to deal with events across the region.

Gavin Marshall, the fire brigade union secretary for the Humberside service says the Government need to invest.           

Meanwhile, money for Lincolnshire fire and rescue has been cut by over 14 per cent- that's equivalent to  one point six million pounds.
