Thornton Curtis speedwatch scheme likely to be extended

44 speeding drivers were recorded by villagers

A trial scheme where volunteers in Thornton Curtis use speed guns to catch drivers going too fast looks likey to be extended to other villages.

They spent 11 hours during 6 sessions and caught 44 motorists driving well over the 30 mile an hour limit.

Those caught were sent warning letters.

Now Humberside police is to discuss expanding the scheme after positive feedback.
