River levels in Lincolnshire drop as flooding fears ease.

There has been particularly in the Wainfleet which has already suffered flooded.

River levels in Lincolnshire are dropping as it looks like the worst of the rainfall has passed.

Around a hundred firefighters have been on duty in the Wainfleet area in the last 24 hours in preparation for possible further flooding.

However downpours have turned out to be less severe than was feared and repairs to the banks of the River Steeping held.

2 flood warnings remain in place for the moment with still the danger of water running down from hills into the river.

It could be Monday before some homeowners are allowed back into their properties.

Emergency services say the priority is now working on a more permanent repair to the banks.

Meanwhile an appeal's been launched designed to help people who've suffered significant flood damage.

Several homes in the Wainfleet area flooded along with a small number of others elsewhere in the county
