Report into deaths of footballer and North Lincs pilot concludes high levels of carbon monoxide

Plane came down in the English Channel last January

A report into the deaths of footballer Emiliano Sala and North Lincolnshire pilot David Ibbotson has concluded both were exposed to harmful levels of carbon monoxide in the cockpit of their aircraft.

The pair died in January when their plane crashed into the English channel.

Sala was being taken to his new club Cardiff City at the time.

Investigators concluded there were dangerous levels of carbon monoxide following toxicology tests on Emilano Sala's body.

Mr Ibbotson's body has never been found.
