Possible end of Newark and Sherwood District Council discussed

Plans would see District Councils in Nottinghamshire replaced by one unitary authority

The end of Newark and Sherwood District Council is a step closer this evening.

Nottinghamshire County Councillors have voted to create a business case on a new super council.

Under the plans all of Nottinghamshire's District Councils would be replaced with one unitary authority.

When it's completed the detailed plans will be discussed again before being submitted to the Government.
