Organisers lost nearly £54,000 running Lincoln's Christmas Market last year

Cancelling the final day of the event was one of the key reasons why it made such a loss

It was a decision that left traders and shopper furious, especially when the predicted bad weather never arrived.

The City Council also forked out more on security, in light of the terrorist attacks in Europe which happened in the lead up to the event.

But despite the figures they are promising next year will be bigger and better than ever.
