One anniversary of death of footballer and North Lincolnshire pilot

The body of Dave Ibbotson from Crowle has never been found

It's a year ago today since a plane, being piloted by a man from North Lincolnshire, crashed in the English Channel, killing footballer Emiliano Sala.

Although he was found dead inside the wreckage of the aircraft, the body of pilot Dave Ibbotson, from Crowle, hasn't yet been discovered and a year on the mystery of what happened remains.

Last week we reported on the publication of a book, making the extraordinary claim Mr Ibbotson could still be alive, having parachuted out of his plane.

An interim air accident report found high levels of carbon monoxide in Sala's body, which may have leaked in to the cockpit, sending both men unconscious before the crash.
