Newark IVF plans risk creating 'postcode lottery'

Plans to stop women in Newark over the age of 35 from having IVF on the NHS would create a postcode lottery, according to councillors.

The health scrutiny committee for Nottinghamshire, has branded the plans unfair and want a new consultation to be held on the proposals.

The NHS bosses have decided you'll only qualify if you're between 25 to 34, because that's the best possible time to get pregnant and will save them money.

But councillors now want people to be asked again and for bosses to reconsider their decision in light of the results.
