Lincolnshire teenager lights Olympic cauldron

A former Caistor Grammar pupil was one of 7 promising athletes to light the Olympic cauldron at the opening ceremony.

It was a tightly kept secret right up until the final moment, but a Lincolnshire teenager was one of those given the honour of lighting the olympic cauldron at the 2012 Opening Ceremony.

7 promising young British athletes lit the flame, each nominated by Olympic greats.

Among them was 18 year old Jordan Duckitt, a former head boy at Caistor Grammar School.

He was nominated by Duncan Goodhew, for being the chairman of the London 2012 Young Ambassador Steering Group for two years.
