Lincolnshire sports groups get Olympic cash

5 projects in Lincolnshire have been awarded a share of £340,000 to improve sports provision.

The money has come from the Inspired Facilities Fund, as part of the London 2012 legacy.

Those getting the cash include the Wyberton Playing Fields Association in Boston and the Welland Yacht Club based in Spalding.

It is the second round of funding from the Inspired Facilities Fund which is investing £50 million of National Lottery Funding into sports provision across the country.

It is part of a programme set up by Sport England to deliver a legacy following the London 2012 Olympics.

Earlier this year another 11 venues in Lincolnshire were awarded a total of £624,000.

Round three of the Inspired Facilities Fund opens at the beginning of next week.
