Lincolnshire police Chief Constable loses legal battle

Bill Skelly argues plans to force police officers to have a degree or study for one would be "disastrous"

The Chief Constable of Lincolnshire has lost a legal battle to stop plans for all officers to be forced to have a degree or study for one.

He's been denied a review of the College of Policing's plan, because of a technicality related to timing.

But, Bill Skelly says he's now considering whether further legal action should be taken and fears the proposals could be disastrous leading to the effective removal of 40 frontline officers.
