Humberside Police 'requires improvement'

According to latest HMIC report

Humberside Police may have put victims of domestic abuse in danger by failing to identify them when they called for help.

That's according to the latest report into the force's effectiveness by the HMIC, which has outlined serious concerns about the force's ability to protect vulnerable people.

Inspector Mike Cunningham from the organisation says they had a range of concerns about how calls were handled.

The report also highlighted problems with the response times for urgent calls - In some cases it was days before officers went out to people who had dialed 999.

The force say they were rated as 'good' in the report for preventing crime and tackling anti social behaviour - they also say they've made 'huge leaps forward' since the inspection.
