Hopes to save RAF Scampton dashed

It follows a debate on this issue

It seems there's little hope of saving Lincolnshire's RAF Scampton.

Yesterday MPs debated keeping the Red Arrows at the airbase, which has been earmarked for closure.

But Defence Minister Tobias Ellwood told them, keeping Scampton open would be far too costly:

MP Sir Edward Leigh had called the debate, saying a previous decision to move the aerobatic display team had been a mistake.
