Hopes a devolution deal for Lincolnshire can be achieved

New legislation from the Govenment may give them an opportunity

A devolution deal could be back on the agenda for Lincolnshire after the Government confirmed it would focus on places that currently have no such powers.

In 2016, the leaders of the County council and South Kesteven District Council voted down a deal for an elected Mayor, they feared it would bring more bureaucracy but one is needed to have devolved powers.

Now some of the region's Council leaders have expressed optimism a new deal may be done in the near future if new legislation is passed..
