Grimsby Town have dropped plans to move to their preferred site for a new stadium - at least for the moment.
The Mariners had identified land off Peaks Parkway for a move.
But now in a joint statement the club and North East Lincolnshire say they want to move away from that, to explore other possibilities such as land near Freeman Street where high rise flats have recently been demolished.
It's hoped a new stadium would form part of wider regeneration after the area was recently given Government cash to spend on improvements.
Council leader Ray Oxby says Peaks Parkway is no longer the attractive option it was and other sites in the town have potential.
