Campaigners hit out at Louth hospital plans

The number of beds at the hospital has been reduced

Campaigners against plans to reduce the number of beds at Louth hospital say the proposals are heartbreaking.

Last week managers announced the move was being considered.

Now a nurse who works there has expressed concerns about the future of facilities.

There used to be 50 beds, but after fire safety concerns last year, the number was cut  to just sixteen.

It was supposed to be temporary but now managers say they've changed to a different way of working which means more patients are treated at home, helping them to recover more quickly.
