Boston drink driver jailed after knocking down and killing cyclist

Driver was one and a half times over the legal limit

A drink driver's starting his jail sentence after knocking down and killing a cyclist in Boston.

Lincoln Crown Court heard how Pavel Makevic didn't have a valid license and was one and a half times over the legal limit when he hit the 74 year old on a level crossing at Broadfield Lane.

He was thrown onto the windscreen and ended up on the pavement in November 2017.

The 31 year old from Park Road in Boston admitted a charge of causing death by careless driving and was jailed for almost 5 years and banned from driving for almost 5 and a half years.
