Animal border checks for Grimsby and Immingham docks said to be "inadequate"

Councillors will discuss a motion tomorrow calling for change

It's claimed border checks for animals and related products at Grimsby and Immingham docks are "inadequate and completely unfit for purpose."

Tomorrow Councillors will debate a motion to increase capacity at the inspection post and move it to the busier Immingham docks.

The current arrangements have been criticised by the fish processing industry with some firms importing their products at other docks because they're unhappy with local arrangements.
