30 men sentenced after violence around Grimsby Town match

The men were sentenced at Hull Crown Court.

23 men have been banned from attending football matches for a total of almost 80 years - after violence between Grimsby Town and Sheffield United fans in Cleethorpes.

Sentencing has now finished for the 30 who were hauled before court, after trouble flared up around a pre-season friendly match in July 2016.

Violent incidents continued from around midday until 6 in the evening - with police forced to deal with major clashes in Market Place, the High Street and Isaac's Hill.

Many admitted violent disorder, while others were sentenced for affray and public order offices.

Full details of today's sentencing can be found here.
