10% drop in people sleeping rough in Lincolnshire

The number of rough sleepers across Lincolnshire and Newark has dropped.

The latest figures are based on a snapshot by councils one night last Autumn, suggest 75 people are sleeping on the streets - that's a 10% fall.

But homeless charities say it's still far too high - Grimsby's night shelter Harbour Place has been open for 4 months.

Dave Carlisle from the organisation says the mainly support men in their late twenties to fifties, but they have seen an increase in the number of women using their services.

Nationally the number of rough sleepers in England has fallen for the first time this decade.
