Birdy - Wild Horses
Jasmine Van Den Bogaerde is Lymington in Hampshire and is known as Birdy. At just 16 years old she had her debut hit in 2011 with ‘Skinny Love’ a cover of a song by American indie band Bon Iver from Wisconsin. Her version reached the Top 10. Birdy's Mum is a concert pianist and taught her to play piano at the age of 5. She entered the UK Idol 2008 competition, an event which attracted over 10,000 hopefuls. Birdy was crowned the winner of the under 18s group after performing 'So Be Free', a song she wrote herself. Her second album ‘Fire Within’ reached the Top 10 in 2013. Birdy’s last song ‘Keeping Your Head Up’ was used on a TV trailer. ‘Wild Horses’ is part of her new album ‘’Beautiful Lies’, released last month. Jasmine’s great uncle was film actor Dirk Bogarde who won Best Actor BAFTA awards in 1963 and 1965.
