19th October:

Grimsby Town's newest recruit, Reese Hall-Johnson is going straight out on loan to Chester.

Manager Russell Slade is keen for the 22 year old to get some minutes under his belt.

He's joining former Mariners manager Marcus Bignot at the National League side.

18th October:

The Mariners beat Cheltenham 3-2 in last night's away match.

It was thanks to 2 goals from Siriki Dembele and one more from Danny Collins.

Town next face the long trip to Morecambe at the weekend.

15th October:

It proved a disappointing afternoon for Grimsby Town and their fans.

It was a goalless draw for them against Crawley.

14th October:

Grimsby Town are hosting Crawley.

Sean McAllister and James Osborne are still out on injury with long term problems. Akwasi Asante is also still recovering from injury.

The only fresh concern is Scott Vernon who's had a sickness bug this week.

7th October:

Grimsby Town came from behind to beat Port Vale 2-1 on the road yesterday in their League two encounter.

Tom Pope put the home side infront just before the break.  Sam Jones headed home the equaliser in the second half, with Siriki Demele getting the winner a short time later.

6th October

Grimsby Town start their journey towards Port Vale later.

They're hoping to pick up some momentum after losing to Scunthorpe United in the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday.

Luke Summerfield and Nathan Clarke remain doubts for the Mariners.

4th October

Scunthorpe United came out on top against The Mariners in the Checkatrade Trophy last night - winning 2 - 1.

They've sealed their place in the next round thanks to a Tom Hopper double - Diallang Jaiyasimi got the goals for an almost entirely changed Town squad.

There's better new on the injuries front, as Akwasi Asante will make a return today in a reserves match against Rotherham United.

26th September

Grimsby Town will be looking to bounce back quickly when they play Colchester at Blundell Park soon.

The Mariners lost at the weekend.

24th September

The Mariners fell victim to former striker Padraig Amond yesterday in a 1 - nil defeat against Newport County.

The Irishman broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute after he found space in the box.

There was only one change for Town - with Mitch Rose returning from injury.

23rd September

There'll be a familiar face for the Mariners when play Newport later.

Ex-Town player Padraig Amond is at the Welsh side now.

17th September

Grimsby Town beat Yeovil 2-1 - keeping up their winning streak.

The Mariners' goals came from Danny Collins and Scott Vernon.

Manager Russell Slade says they deserved the win.

16th September

The Mariners will be hoping they can keep up their momentum when they play Yeovil later.

It's at Blundell Park.

Town beat Accrington Stanley midweek - and think it could be a chance to build up a good form early on in the season.

9th September

Grimsby Town boss Russell Slade knows his team have work to do after his team slumped to their fourth league defeat of the season at Mansfield.

The Mariners lost 4-1.

They conceded a penalty just before half time which was converted by the Stags, 3 more goals saw Mansfield seal the game.

The Mariners managed a late consolation with Sam Jones the man on target from the penalty spot.

3rd September

It was a good win for Grimsby yesterday.

The Mariners beat Crewe 1-0 with Mitch Rose heading home the winner.

2nd September

Grimsby Town could hand debuts to new on loan striker Jamille Matt and deadline day signing Martyn Woolford... they both joined the club this week.

The Mariners take on Crewe this afternoon.

26th August

It's defeat for Grimsby Town and a 5th game in a row that they have had a player sent off.

Danny Collins was the man to get the red card this time, in their 3-2 defeat to Wycombe.  Mitch Rose and JJ Hooper got the goals for Grimsby.

22nd August:

Grimsby Town have been knocked put of the League cup after suffering a one nil home defeat at the hands of Championship Derby.

It was the second time they'd played after the first game was abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch.

A penalty was the difference between the two sides.

Once again Town had a player sent off when Ben Davies got his marching orders for a second yellow card.

Manager Russell Slade said the result was disappointing but there were many positives to take from containing a championship side to a one nil result especially with only 10 men.

22nd August:

The Mariners have denied they agreed to search procedures at Stevenage which led to complaints from fans.

Supporters say some females were asked to show their bras in full view of men whilst children were searched.

The club has denied Stevenage claims the procedures were discussed between the 2 and agreed due to the risk of prohibited items getting into the ground.

Town says it was not to blame and will be raising the issue formally with Stevenage tomorrow.  

The Football League have pledged to investigate.

The Mariners are back in action in the League Cup later.

They host Derby County at home in a rescheduled First Round fixture

It's after they had their third consecutive league game where a player was sent off in their 3-1 defeat to Stevenage at the weekend.

12th August:

The Mariners started their new season with a win last Saturday. This time they're at home to Coventry.

Their two new players could make their debut this afternoon.

8th August:

Grimsby Town are hoping to cause an upset when they host Derby County at Blundell Park.

It's after they kicked off their league 2 campaign with a 3-1 victory at Chesterfield.

6th August: 

Grimsby Town got the full three points on the first day of the new season yesterday.

The Mariners beat Chesterfield 3-1 with goals from Nathan Clarke, Sam Jones and Ben Davies, the latter a penalty, after the sending off of Chesterfield's Ian Evatt, late in the game.

It didn't all go Grimsby's way. They also ended the game with just ten men, after Zak Mills picked up a second yellow card in the 88th minute.
