Scunthorpe United and Lincoln City lose, Mariners salvage a point

It may be early in the season but Scunthorpe United are in real trouble, second bottom of League One.

The Iron suffered another defeat yesterday, going down 2-1 to neighbours Doncaster Rovers.

Rory Fallon put Scunthorpe infront in the 24th, but James Coppinger equalised four minutes later, with the winner coming from Nathan Tyson in the second half.

Manager Russ Wilsox was disappointed to get nothing out of the game

In the Conference it was a scrappy affair for Lincoln City, losing 2-1 at Nuneaton.

Lee Fowler put the home side infront on the half hour, Tom Miller's header levelled the game for the Imps by the break, but Andy Dawson scored the second for Nuneaton in the 68th

Manager Gary simpson says it wasn't good enough.

It's a share of the points for Grimsby Town at Dartford.

Tom Bradbrooke's header put the home team infront in the 61st.

Llenell John-Lewis got the equaliser for Town, a spot kick after Dartford's Nathan Collier handled the ball in the area and was sent off.

Manager Paul Hurst was pleased with how they fought back.

In the Conference North, Boston United lost 2-nil to Hednesford Town, while Gainsborough Trinity went down 2-1 to Worcester, a side that hadn't scored away from goal this season, until yesterday!

In the Evostick Premier...Stamford won 2-nil at Frickley.

Meanwhile, twice Grantham went infront...but twice Marine equalised in their 2-all draw.

In the Evostick First, Brigg Town lost 7-2 to bottom of the table Kidsgrove Athletic.

Spalding United lost 4-2 at Sheffield FC, though did at least fight back from 3-nil down at one stage.

It's three wins in a row for Lincoln United now, Scott Ruthuen got both goals in their 2-nil win over Stafford Rangers.

In the FA Vase it's another high scoring win for Cleethorpes Town in the second qualifying round.

They beat Radcliffe Olympic 6-1, thanks to a hat-trick from Jack Richardson, a brace from Jack Barlow and an early goal from Darren Hanslip...easily putting them through to the next stage of the competition.
