FOOTBALL: Weekend Results

Scunthorpe draw but last gasp defeat for Lincoln City.

It proved a dramatic final Saturday before Christmas for our football sides...with disallowed goals, disputed penalties, players sent off and some heavy defeats.

Scunthorpe United had two goals disallowed in their 1-1 draw with Bradford.

Hakeeb Adelakun's late equaliser in stoppage time rescued a share of the points for the Iron, after they went behind through Rory McArdle in the first half.

Manager Mark Robbins thought they were good value for a point.

Questionable refeering has again dominated debate for Lincoln City fans after a 2-1 defeat at Kidderminster.

The game changed early on, when Alan Power was sent off for the Imps, in a decision that even Kidderminster players tried to appeal.

Despite being down to ten men, Delano Sam-Yorke put them infront just before half-time.

Marvin Johnson equalised after the break and despite fighting wasn't to be...Ahmed Obeng managed to net the winner for Kidderminster just seconds before the full-time whistle.

In the Conference North, Boston United lost 1-nil at Barrow. The goal coming from a dispute penalty in the 90th minute

Injury hit Gainsborough Trinity, meanwhile, went down 2-1 at Hednesford.

Paul Mccone headed home first for the home side...but Lynton Karkach equalised for Trinity.

The winner is also disputed...Danny Glover scoring, although it's claimed Gainsborough goalie Jan Budtz had been fouled.

In the Evostick Premier...Grantham Town were thrashed seven one by Blyth Spartans.

Adding insult to injury, Grantham also had a player sent off, Ben Fairclough red-carded in the second half and one of Blyth's seven goals was judged to be an own goal from the Gingerbreads' Scott Hellewell.

Stamford lost 2-0 at Workington, and also finished with ten men on the pitch after the sending off of Josh Moreman.

Brigg went down 5-0 to Mickleover Sports it was better news for Lincoln United though, beating Sheffield FC 2-1 Josh Nichol and Andy Toyne got the goals.

Spalding beat Loughborough 2-1, making it nine wins out of 10 in the league now.  Jack McGovern and Mitch Griffiths scored the goals, both in the second half.

In the Northern Counties Cleethorpes beat Garforth 1-nil. Jonathan Oglesby got the goal, and it wasn't without incident either, as Liam Dickens was sent off for the Owls later in the game.
