It was Lincoln City who came out on top in last nights hard fought local derby beating Grimsby Town 3-2.

Twice the Imps took the lead and twice the Mariners came back before the home side secured all 3 points just 2 minutes from normal time.

Jordan Burrow, Hamza Bencherif and Sean Newton with a penalty scored for Lincoln with the Grimsby goals coming from Craig Disley and Jon Paul Pitman.

That leaves the Imps 9th in the table and the Mariners 11th.

Lincoln manager Gary Simpson was delighted with the result.

Grimsby boss Paul Hurst thought his side didn't deserve to lose.

Elsewhere Boston United missed the chance to go top of the table going down to a 7-2 home defeat at the hands of Oxford City while Gainsborough Trinity were one nil winners at home to Hendesford.

Grantham Town won 3 nil at Nantwich but Stamford AFC went down 2 nil at home to Barwell.

Lincoln United suffered a 4-2 home defeat to was a similar story for Brigg Town with visitors Rainworth beating them 2-1, Spalding won 2-1 at Coalville.
