Round up of local results

July 5

Bourne and Market Deeping continue in the top two places in the Readers Lincolnshire ECB Premier League, with Bourne extending their lead to 16 points after beating Billinborough while Spalding held Deeping to a draw.
And Louth moved up to fourth after fellow challengers Bracebridge Heath and Woodhall Spa saw their games cancelled due to the weather at Skegness and Market Rasen respectively.
Chris Jones made the only century, hitting 117 as Deeping clocked up the day’s highest total of 271 for seven but were then denied maximum points after Spalding finished 199 for nine.
Spalding, for whom Thivanka Rajaratne hit 89, reached 150 for one but then collapsed, thanks in part of Lee Peacock’s five wicket haul.
Billingborough scored early success at Bourne with a wicket on 10 but Ben Stroud (79) and Conrad Louth added 132 for the second wicket and Louth and Neval Grazette added a further 70 for the third as Bourne finished on 234 for three, Louth unbeaten on 87.
Billingborough batted steadily but lost wickets at regular intervals and three wickets each for Grazette and Colin Cheer saw them bowled out for 149.
Grimsby were left chasing a similar total at home to Louth who finished on 232 for four, Graham West blasting an unbeaten 52 and John Medler batting more steadily to make 73 not out.
Kerry James then anchored the Grimsby innings with a knock of 64 as the young home side battled some strong Louth bowling and the final pair hung on for a total of 155 for nine and four points, which put Grimsby 13 points ahead of Billingborough in the table.
At Sleaford, Lindum opener Will Wright hit 53 and from 85 for three, Geoff Middleton and Richard Bishop (43) put on 104.  Middleton made 74 and Osama Rabbani and Jonny Miller hit 30 and 36 respectively as the visitors reached 265 for seven at the close.
Sleaford had 87 on the board when Miller bowler Louis Kimber for 34 but fellow opener Tim McIntosh batted on to make 89 before also falling to Miller to make it 151 for three.
Miller then claimed three more victims as the run rate slowed to record figures of five for 57 off 17 overs as Sleaford closed on 201 for seven.   Lindum are now sixth in the table with Sleaford one place below them.
