Local police forces need to improve

The latest reports on how efficient they are have come out.

Government inspectors say both Humberside and Lincolnshire police are making progress to become more efficient but are still failing in some areas.

The latest report shows the two "require improvement" on efficiency.

Humberside needs to be more cost effective and improve procedures to make people safe.

But inspector Mike Cunningham says there are some positives for them.

Planning for the future seems to be the major problem for Lincolnshire police.

Inspector Zoe Billingham says there are signs that the force is now addressing those concerns.

Nottinghamshire police was also given a mixed picture and a "requires improvement" rating.
