North Hykeham to get fewer affordable homes after changes to planning rules

The original plans for the development, off Cleveland Avenue

Fewer affordable homes are going to be built in North Hykeham - after controversial changes to planning regulations.

Developers were originally given permission to build 167 houses off Cleveland Avenue.

But, the areas new Housing Strategy means only 20% instead of 35% have to be offered at a lower price.

Councillors have passed the revised proposals - despite objections that it'll mean local people lose out.
