Mixed picture for social mobility in Lincolnshire and Newark

North East Lincolnshire is among the least socially mobile areas in the UK.

A government report has been named Newark as one of the worst places to live in the country when it comes to opportunities for young people.

The Social Mobility Commission ranked the area just one spot off the bottom in their table, with North East Lincolnshire not faring much better.

Researchers looked at things like quality of schools, the number of top jobs and rates of pay.

More deprived areas tend to have lower rates of pay, fewer top jobs and longer journeys to work.

Parts of London take up most of the top end of the table; North Kesteven was 29th, while South Holland was 112th
