Man conned out of £3,500

Trading standards have issued a warning after a Cleethorpes man was conned out of £3,500.

The man was told he was due compensation for the misselling of payment protection insurance.

To secure the £5,000 cash he was informed he must pay a £3,500 handling fee which he did before realising it was a scam.
