Man arrested by counter-terrorism police in Lincoln

A man's been arrested in Lincoln on suspicion of terrorism offences. A raid was carried out early this morning by Counter Terrorism Police.

It was part of a pre-planned operation relating to an investigation in the North West. 

The 46 year old is in the custody of Counter Terrorism Policing North West.

He's accused of being a member banned far-right organisation National Action and of malicious communications.

National Action, a neo-Nazi group founded in 2013 and was proscribed as a terrorist group in 2016.

Members of the group posted messages of support for Thomas Mair, the murderer of MP Jo Cox, in the days following her death.

It is a criminal offence to be a member.
