Lincoln Christmas market starts later today with organisers saying they've reviewed procedures after the final day was cancelled last year.

The decision was made due to fears of snow which was much less severe than had been feared.

A review identified some issues such as the need for improved communications.

One of the organisers Simon Cole-burn says they've learned lessons.

Meanwhile there'll be strong security at the market.

Lincolnshire police are looking to provide highly visible police officers in case of any problems and to provide reassurance.

Chief Constable Bill Skelly says they need to strike a balance between policing the market and elsewhere.
