Immingham parents and council reach compromise on memorial cot

The cot will now be able to stay, after its had a few modifications.

An Immingham couple are being allowed to keep a cot on their baby daughter's grave.

Jason and Stacey Tinmurth made the memorial to celebrate what would have been their first child Maisie's fourth birthday - sadly, she was stillborn.

Immingham Town Council had ordered them to remove it though, because they said it broke rules.

But now they've reached an agreement with the parents which means it can stay, once modified to be shortened.

A petition against moves to remove the memorial gathered thousands of signatures from across the UK.

Jason and Stacey held a sit in protest at the cemetary last month to call attention to the actions of the council.
