Hundreds of jobs under threat at Stamford factory

Cummins is looking to shut its Barnack Road base

Hundreds of jobs are going at a Factory in Stamford.

The Cummins engineering group has announced plans to close their main site in the town - which employs five hundred people.

It's looking to shut their Barnack Road facility in the next year.

They say it's a difficult decision but the site doesn't have a sustainable future.

But they're looking to expand their site on Ryhall Road and will advertise a hundred and fifty jobs there.

Unions will meet management next Monday.
