Gritter rescues ambulance with newborn on board near Stamford

A gritter has helped tow an ambulance with a newborn baby on board out of the snow near Stamford.

East Midlands Ambulance Service have thanked the Highways England gritter driver for stopping to help get them out of the snow.

The baby was born in the ambulance, which later became stuck on its way to hospital.

The lorry towed the ambulance up a hill so the crew could get to Peterborough Hospital - where the mum and baby were checked over.
