Grantham Southern Relief Road plans move forward

The project, which is being built in 3 stages, will allow traffic to and from the A1 to bypass Grantham town centre

£81m plans for Grantham's Southern Relief Road have moved forward, after councillors approved the compulsory purchase of the land needed to build the project.

Lincolnshire County Council is also pressing ahead with getting permission from Highways England for connections to the A1.

The scheme, linking the A1 to the A52, is designed to help ease traffic in the town while reducing pollution and making room for further growth.
