A Lancaster memorial to welcome visitors to Lincolnshire?

The Avro Lancaster bomber was a familiar sight in Lincolnshire skies during the war.

Lincolnshire could be getting its own answer to the Angel Of The North; a statue of a Lancaster Bomber close to the county border.

Its an idea that's been put forward by a group called the Bomber County Gateway Trust, who want the memorial built off the A46 near Swinderby.

If completed it would be the size of an actual Lancaster and could be raised above the ground, as if coming in to land.
