3 men tackle emu running wild on Isle of Axholme

He had been on the loose for about a week

Three men have tackled an emu that's been running around the Isle of Axholme for the last week.

The giant bird was spotted at Haxey Primary this morning.

Worried the school children could be in danger - Ted Phillips, who runs a nearby petting zoo, decided to take action.

They managed to pin it down - a passing policeman and builder even helped out.

The emu is now being looked after while the hunt is on for its owner.
