Alexandra was crowned the X-Factor champion in December 2008 after famously singing a duet with Beyonce. Her debut was a cover of the 1984 Leonard Cohen song. ‘Hallelujah’ sold 105,000 copies in the first 24 hours and instantly went to Number 1 for the Christmas chart reaching sales of over 1 million copies by the second week in January. 23 year-old Alexandra was born in Islington, North London. Her mum is a former member of the group Soul II Soul. Soon after winning the X-Factor she signed a 5-album US record deal reportedly worth £3m. Alexandra’s debut album titled ‘Overcome’ peaked at Number 1 in 2009. From her 6 singles so far 3 have gone to Number 1, including ‘Start Without You’ and ‘Bad Boys’. This is the first single from her 2nd album ‘Domination’ out later in the year.
